Frequently Asked Questions
Does RFID need line of sight like a barcode?
No. Unlike a barcode, RFID reads with no line of sight — through boxes, around metal, and hundreds of tags at once.
How far can a UHF RFID tag be read?
A modern UHF RFID tag can be read up to about 8–10 metres. Convalexa's REFLECTA metal-mount tags read up to 8.5 m on the India/EU 865–868 MHz band.
Where is RFID used in everyday life?
In FASTag toll tags, retail anti-theft and inventory tags, building access cards, metro and transit cards, hotel key cards, tap-to-pay cards, pet microchips and e-passports.
